Fall is in the air in Michigan! We celebrated the coming change of the season by going out to Erwin’s Apple Orchard. Apple cider and donuts are a must here. We started out with a wagon ride (or two) around the orchard to taste all the different kinds of apples they grew. Many of us had never tried the McIntosh apples which proved be to a winner with the kids. They loved getting hoisted up into the tree to pick the very best of the harvest.
Back at the store we each had our fill of apple donuts with cinnamon sugar or pumpkin icing – or both! The kids loved to feed the goats and see them so excited for some attention. There was also a giant tricycle path Ella, Asher and Liam (and Jason, Brad and Aaron) raced around a dozen times. The kids didn’t want to leave the hay maze either, but I think Aaron enjoyed himself in there quite a bit as well!
We had a great time picking a whole bundle of apples with the Kiser’s and getting to know their family more. Stephanie baked our team some apple dumplings yesterday that were so delicious, we couldn’t help but have seconds! What a great way to start off the autumn season!
