We were thankful to serve at Grace Baptist Church in Anderson, Indiana. Even though they are in the process of looking for a pastor, we felt a unity among the people and a desire for the Word! Pastor Doug Stein, the interim pastor, has done a great job stepping in while the church is pursuing a new pastor. This week was exciting with a Ladies’ night, Men’s night, Irish Concert, Christian school chapels, and a special teen activity on Friday night. Sunday was a great start to our meeting with Grace!
On Monday morning, Aaron shared the Gospel in the Christian school and ten kids responded with more questions about salvation. Each morning we opened the Word with them, praying for God to work. We are thankful that even without a Cola War or pre-sessions with the teens, we heard of many who expressed their gratitude and growth during the week. We are trusting the Word to continue working in these teenagers' hearts.
That evening, we had a ladies' outreach! All the ladies (including our team members) were greatly looking forward to the steak! that was on the menu. After some fun and fellowship, Steph gave the gospel. Afterwards, she was able to speak to a lady about the work of Christ for her sins. There were five women who responded for salvation after hearing the Gospel. All of these guests were friends and family members of the church folks, and we are praising God for the continued evidence of Christ through these relationships. What an exciting night!
The men grilled up some steaks again on Tuesday evening, and Aaron challenged them with the Man Quiz. The main event for the night was a corn hole tournament that went on throughout the night. After preaching the Gospel to the men, they finished up the tournament and a night of great friendship. Six men indicated on a response card that they had trusted Christ for salvation. What a blessing to see God at work in those who came out to the men's and ladies' events.
On Friday night, our team participated in a teen outreach that brought together Grace Baptist in Anderson, Grace Baptist in Muncie, and Grace Baptist in New Castle. Aaron preached the Good News of Christ to many teens who had never heard of Jesus before. He counted around 19 teens who raised their hands acknowledging their need for Christ at the end of the night. What a wonderful example of God’s work!
The next week we headed over to West Terre Haute. We were blessed to serve at First Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Augustus. We were thankful for the opportunity to serve with this church again! Throughout the week of meetings we gathered around the Word, and, praise the Lord, He worked in the people's hearts as well as in our own.
