Hope Baptist Church (Winder, GA)

​This week we headed north to Winder, GA with Pastor Stephen Smallwood of Hope Baptist Church. After a month in Florida, we were excited (and a little cold) to be near the rolling hills around the area. As a surprise, Matt and Carol Anne's family met up with us on Saturday to spend the weekend with their children. It's always a wonderful blessing to see family on the road!

Sunday was a packed day for the church. We were blessed with a few surprises in the service. In the morning we saw three people baptized into the church. We rarely get to see baptisms on the road but we love to praise God for His work in the churches we visit. In the afternoon Pastor Smallwood led the church in communion, another rarity in the road. Thank God for unity among His children!
 
After Sunday school and morning worship, the church met together to spend the afternoon eating some delicious hamburgers and hotdogs! Since we have a native of Denver, we were excited to watch the game with the Clemons and Matthews families with us. Nothing says a good time like food and friends.
 
The rest of the week we held a presession for the teens, adults and children. Our team girls have started to go through the Jesus Storybook Bible, a great resource for teaching kids (and us as well!) how to see Jesus in all the stories of the Bible.
 
Our Irish Concert was the talk of the week among the church and we looked forward to seeing who God would bring to the service. In faith Pastor prepared to seat as many people as possible, ready for God to water plowed fields for the Kingdom. Thank you Pastor for your faith Nd kindness to us! We know God has been at work in the Winder area before we arrived and are thankful for His work once we leave.
