We were thankful to partner with Fellowship Baptist Church in Portland, Indiana. Last fall, we had the opportunity to be with them, and we were looking forward to being together again. Pastor Kelly was joking with Aaron about the last time the team had come--it was the coldest November in that area anyone could remember.
The students of Jay County Christian Academy were fun to interact with and talk to throughout our time at their school during the week. Aaron, Brad and Matt preached at morning chapel services Monday through Wednesday and each day we met up with the students at lunch to get to know them a bit. With such an energetic group of kids, we had a great time with them.
Their energy definitely added to the joy of the week as our services grew each night. Sunday night we had 6 children in the Amazing Grace Race program and Monday morning Aaron set a goal for the children to have 20 kids. If they met their goal, they could put shaving cream in Mr. Brad’s hair. Little did we know that they would exceed that goal the next day!
The entire week the people of Fellowship were dedicated to coming out to hear the Word. Thursday was a great night with the teens! We had over 30 teens for our first Cola War of the year. We led lots of rough games out on the front lawn of the church before heading inside for the night’s service. We were thrilled to see six people come to an understanding of their need of Jesus! One of them was an adult mom who came to Christ alongside of her daughter! Praise God!
After finishing out the week with another Irish Concert we are so thankful to the Lord for His work, not only in the hearts of the church people we minister to but also in our own. We are constantly reminded by circumstances and our own hearts that we cannot do this work without God’s continual grace. Please continue to pray for our team as we minister. We are in desperate need of God’s work—in and through us.
