It was a blessing to serve with Pastor Jeremy Horneck at Grace Baptist Church for our second week on the road. Even though the church doesn’t have their own building yet and meets in a school, the week was jam packed with different community outreach events. On Sunday afternoon, our team split up and met with different small groups in the church. It was a refreshing time of food and fellowship together.
Monday night and Tuesday night, the church had a marriage seminar focusing on how the Gospel radically changes couples’ relationships. While Aaron preached to the adults, Dillon and the team took the kids out for our children’s program, the Amazing Grace Race. It was awesome to see little hearts responding to the gospel too! Tuesday night, Matt connected with an exchange student from the Middle East and spent almost 2 hours sharing the gospel and comparing Christianity to Islam. Due to the weather Thursday, the Family Fun Night in the park turned into a game night at Pastor Jeremy’s house. It was a joy to fellowship and just have fun with families from the church. Friday night brought the week to a close with the Irish Concert at Fountain Park in downtown Sheboygan. It was such a fun outdoor venue for our team to play at! We were encouraged by how many visitors came to the concert and heard the Gospel.
In addition to all the church events, our team had many opportunities to learn from pastors and people in the church. Aaron and the guys joined Pastor Jeremy and a handful of other Wisconsin pastors for a church plant meeting. After the meeting, they all enjoyed some fun at a local golf course. Pastor Jeremy also took time to teach some graphic design to some team members. We appreciate the help that he was to us!
We had such an encouraging week at Grace Baptist Church and were encouraged by the open response to God’s Word. We are praying for continued growth and outreach in Sheboygan. Check out our Facebook page for more pictures and details from our time in Sheboygan, WI.
