Saturday, August 29 began our fall semester for Coffey Ministries. Our team all traveled in to Indianapolis that day, and we started right off the bat on Sunday morning at Trinity Baptist Church in Westfield, Indiana. We have three new team members this year—Matt and Carol Anne Clemons and Julia Delaney. (Julia will be traveling with us for the fall semester.) Click here to read more about our team!
Every year, we have a week of team training, where we train our team members in their various responsibilities, gather around the Word each morning for team devotions, teach our ministry’s philosophy, and learn new music. This year, we did our team training at Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN. It was a great start to our year together. We enjoyed the chance to work on some great new songs, as well as to study through Romans 12.
We had a blast with the teens and Pastor Brandon Hamilton on Wednesday night. They played some crazy games, and we were able to do some of our new music and gather around the Word together. What a fun group of kids!
That next Saturday we packed up and drove up to Calvary Baptist in Findlay, Ohio to minister for the coming week. We were able to participate in their morning worship service and afternoon fellowship time. It is always a joy to partner with this church body, and we were encouraged to serve with them for the day.
After Labor Day, we went with Heritage Christian School to Camp Peniel for their school camp. Not only was the weather beautiful, but we had a great time with the students and faculty throughout the week. Aaron did a series through the book of Ephesians about walking worthy of the Gospel, and Matt also preached a couple of times. On Friday night, they had a testimony service. The teens were open about what God had done in their hearts through the Word. What a blessing to plant seeds of truth and see God change people. We praise the Lord for allowing us to serve with Heritage Christian School’s student body and staff.
