Outside My Comfort Zone; In God's Care

A testimony from a previous team member, Phil Arcuri (2020-2022) on what God has been doing since he served with us...

​"In the past ten months since my time ended with Coffey Ministries, God has worked greatly in my life. After finishing with the team in May, I worked that summer at The Wilds of New England in New Hampshire. I then moved to Bratislava, Slovakia in August to teach English to 5th and 7th graders at Narnia Church Primary School. This is my first time teaching, living on my own, and living in another country, so the “firehose” of life feels full blast. To say it has been a challenge would be an understatement, but God has been faithful! I have seen in many ways how the experience of five summers of camp ministry and two years of leading the Kids Program for Coffey Ministries team has prepared me to teach and deal with middle schoolers.

God has given me skills to work with and lead kids, but he has put me in a place where I have to be vulnerable and use those talents in His strength. Whenever I get discouraged, I try to step back and realize I have 107 souls in front of me each week that need Christ. Through the rest of the school year, I pray that I can be a daily Christ-like example to everyone around me. God is faithful!”
