From Fort Myers, we traveled back across Florida to Faith Baptist Church in Palm Bay. This was our first time at Faith! The week started Sunday and culminated in an Irish Concert on Thursday night. Each night before the service we had pre-sessions (short times of connecting around the Word prior to the service!). Aaron has been teaching the adults a series on prayer. Riley leads the teen pre-sessions and has been drawing principles on God’s will from the book of Ruth. From Naomi to Ruth to Boaz, we see that God can use anyone to accomplish His will. It’s comforting to know that God is working in our lives whether we see what He’s doing or not. It’s always encouraging to see the numbers grow each night. From the kids to the adults, attendance increased each night and the auditorium was filled both Wednesday (Family Fun Night) and Thursday (Irish Concert). A highlight for the kids came when they reached their goal for the week and got to slam 3 whip cream pies into Ryan’s face/ear/hair . (Ryan has since decided he will never use whip cream again)! The biggest highlight for the team was not only the relationships we were able to build but also that three people turned to Christ! In the midst of the busyness of ministry, its easy to focus on others things and miss the most important thing, showing Christ to others. Praise God that through us, and sometimes in spite of us, He continues His work of redeeming fallen people and restoring them to the image of His Son. We trust these updates are as encouraging for you to read as it for us to write them. Thank you for your prayers!

Our team greatly enjoyed our time serving with Gunnery Road Baptist Church in Lehigh Acres, FL. We had a full week of services, and we were also able to interact with the students of Gunnery Road Christian School throughout the week. We have been at this church many times over the years, so our time together is always sweet as we reconnect with sweet friends here. This body of believers loves to sing, and we greatly enjoyed worshipping and gathering around the Word together. During our time with the school, we participated in a Fun Day on Thursday which led up to the Family Fun Night that evening. We enjoyed games, talking, eating and laughing together with the staff and kids. That evening in kids program we had over 80 kids which meant Ryan had to eat a live fish (the goal was 65). We were so encouraged to see many families from the Christian school that evening for our family outreach event. We are praying for the seeds that have been planted…may God bring about His fruit in His time. We love Pastor Vance and his family, and it was a joy to get some special time together. We praise the Lord for Gunnery Road Baptist church and what God is doing there! We hit the ground running this semester! We started on the outskirts of sunny Miami, FL at Westwood Lake Baptist Church. Having 80 degree weather in January was wonderful! One of the fun activities we were able to do was go to the Everglades and look at the alligators. Everyone on team held a baby alligator, which required conquering fear for some of us. Some exciting news on the Coffey team is having a new team member join us! Mitchel Beck is from Augusta, GA just graduated from Bob Jones University in December with a degree in Biology. His jobs include schooling Asher Coffey, vehicle maintenance and playing the ukulele in kids program (which is AWESOME by the way.) Thank you for praying for us all on team! God has been so good to us in allowing our team to overcome so many hurdles. Currently, we have an urgent prayer request for the Coffey's trailer One of the supporting jacks broke and Aaron is having difficulty finding someone who can fix it or find parts. While this has been frustrating, we know God will continue to provide for the our every need and we are trusting God to provide for this specific need. Also, please continue to pray for Carol Anne. She and Asa are doing so well and God has carried them both so far. Carol Anne knows God is faithful and is good and has allowed her life to preach to us all on team everyday. Finally, please continue praying for our team as a whole. We are getting back into homeschooling, doing kids program, music practice, music lessons and so much more. We need God’s grace everyday and need Him in our every moment! Pictures will be posted on Facebook ASAP of all our adventures and our meeting from last week so keep your eyes peeled! |
