This week in Starr, South Carolina at Grace Baptist Church was a busy week for everyone in the church! Even before we arrived, Pastor Gary Bill had been encouraging the members to invite friends, neighbors, family members, coworkers and anyone else they could think of to come to the meetings this week—especially for the special events on Thursday and Friday. The Family Week at Grace served a purpose - bringing in those who needed to hear the gospel. Each night was a different chance for the church to use as a strategy for evangelism in the community. We were blessed to see visitors every night to the services.

As our spring semester continues, we made our way down to Hampton, Georgia for a Bible Conference at Bible Baptist Church. We had the opportunity to partner with other speakers during the week and be a part of pushing the church toward spiritual growth. Pastor Regier welcomed us to his house the first night for dinner. His was the first of many acts of kindness from the people of Bible Baptist. Our Sunday of ministry at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Tom Craig was certainly one of the most educational for our team. On Saturday when we arrived, Pastor Tom educated us on the beginnings of Oak Ridge, the government’s use of the city as the secret location for the Manhattan Project of World War II and current location of facilities such as Y-12. We also explored the American Museum of Science and Energy on Sunday afternoon. Hidden in the Appalachian Mountains, our team found a city full of history and scientific discovery. After a short trip north from Chattanooga, we made it to Athens, TN to spend the week with Pastor Jack Scallions at Fairview Baptist church. The beautiful hills of Fairview were quite a sight. The team was able to get to know the teens and children on Sunday morning, helping with Sunday school and the morning service. |
