Grace Baptist Church (Starr, SC)

This week in Starr, South Carolina at Grace Baptist Church was a busy week for everyone in the church! Even before we arrived, Pastor Gary Bill had been encouraging the members to invite friends, neighbors, family members, coworkers and anyone else they could think of to come to the meetings this week—especially for the special events on Thursday and Friday. The Family Week at Grace served a purpose - bringing in those who needed to hear the gospel. Each night was a different chance for the church to use as a strategy for evangelism in the community. We were blessed to see visitors every night to the services.

Two of the most attended nights were Thursday and Friday evening. Thursday was a Ladies’ Chocolate Café night. Coffee and chocolate galore! There were so many more women than the church had planned that Aaron joked a couple of times to “never underestimate the power of chocolate!” We were blessed to have around eighty women come that night to hear Stephanie give the gospel to the group.

On Friday night, the church hosted a Men’s Steak Out…and we weren’t disappointed in attendance! Each man had a plate full of a baked potato, a salad, a soft roll, and, most importantly, the main pull of the night--a giant hunk of steak! God provided so many blessings going into this night through different men donating drinks and desserts, as well as many unsaved guests who came with their friends. One man trusted Christ, and there were several other men who indicated that they had more questions about the message. We praise the Lord for the opportunity to share the gospel to so many men. It’s exciting for Grace Baptist Church to have many visitors to follow-up on in the future from our time together.

We pray that God will continue to work in the seeds planted in the hearts of church members and their guests that came to the meetings throughout the week. We know that God will have His way in the hearts of those that heard the Word preached.
