The Evangelical Church Phoenix, AZ After our time in New Mexico, we headed to Arizona. Our first church in this state this semester was The Evangelical Church. This was a particularly sweet week in that most of the congregation’s first language was Spanish. Even though we couldn’t always understand each other, there was a sweetness in each conversation and an evidence of a bond in our Savior! A particular sweet part of the services was that during the congregational worship, there was both English and Spanish singing. It was a beautiful glimpse of what heaven will be like when people from all tribes and tongues will bow in worship to our Lord! It was a particular blessing too to be able to learn and sing a song to this sweet congregation in their native Spanish language. Seeing their eyes light up as truth was being sung to them in Spanish was so sweet and special! We had regular services Sunday through Tuesday. It was so sweet to see Aaron and Pastor Steve Rubio preach together. Pastor Steve translated for each of the services for the adults. But before each service, we had precessions with the teens. Other than the kid’s program this we, the teens were a group in this church that we got to really invest in. In fact, on Wednesday, we had a teen activity night. We played some fun new games like twists on Dodgeball and Big Ball Volleyball! Afterwards, we did a Family Fun Night with the church family. It was so much fun to end this week with this night! This church family really got into the games and it was so much fun to laugh with these fellow Spanish believers. We loved our time with the people of The Evangelical Church. There were many sweet connections that we made throughout the week, despite the language barrier. God used this week to help stretch all of us and give a new perspective on ministering to and with others that speak a different language than we do. What a sweet and unique week!

Grace Baptist Church Farmington, NM After a long trip from Mountain Home, AR, we arrived at Grace Baptist Church in Farmington, NM on Saturday, January 22. We had so many neat ministry opportunities this week! We had regular services Sunday through Tuesday. We enjoyed the conversations that we had before and after services. In fact, before the services, we had pre-sessions for all ages. Aaron spoke to the adults, Hudson spoke to the teens, and Steph Coffey and Steph Wright spoke to the kids. It was a sweet way to connect with each age group before the service and share truths from God’s Word. Multiple times throughout the week, we also had various touch points with the school kids. Some of the guys on the team got to speak in school chapels. On Monday, Phil spoke to the elementary kids. Then Monday through Thursday, Aaron and Hudson alternated speaking to the high schoolers. We always love being able to interact with kids in a Christian school attached to a church we’re serving in. We also had a very unique opportunity to serve with the youth group. On Wednesday afternoon, some of the team members went along with the teens and Pastor Adam to volunteer at a local food bank. It was not only a sweet time to get to serve alongside the teens, but also to give back to the local community there in Farmington. After the food bank, we held a Cola War back at the church. We loved spending more time with these teens, watching them play hard, and encouraging them spiritually. As for services for the last two evenings at Grace Baptist, we did a Family Fun Night and an Irish Concert. It was fun to watch this church family participate in Family Fun Night because we see a church family have fun and laugh together. Irish Concerts are always special too, because we love seeing church people invite others to hear the good news of the Gospel! It was a blessing to be with the people of Grace Baptist Church. On Tuesday afternoon, we had the special treat to go with Pastor Adam to visit some Aztec ruins and drive to Durango, CO. It was a wonderful afternoon to spend together seeing ruins from the past, and see God’s beautiful creative hand! January 16-21, 2022
Mountain Home Bible Church Mountain Home, AR We arrived in Mountain Home, Arkansas on Friday evening ready to serve the people of Mountain Home Bible Church! Thankfully we arrived in town before the snowstorm hit on Saturday evening into Sunday. Because of the storm, we had to cancel the morning service that day. Since the roads cleared up that afternoon, we did a Family Fun Night during the afternoon service. This church was definitely a fun church to do a family fun night with! On Tuesday we had a unique opportunity to minister. During the day, Mountain Home Bible Church hosted a pastor’s conference with various pastors from the surrounding area. There were a couple of different sessions in which the team provided music and Aaron preached. It was sweet to see pastors from the area gathering together to fellowship, be encouraged, and grow together. We also had some other ways to connect with the church and the community this week. On Wednesday morning, Phil and Hudson went to a Christian school in the area where some of the church kids attended, and spoke in their chapel. Then on Wednesday evening, we hosted a Dodgeball Tournament and had more teens come out than we expected. In fact, there were a few different youth groups from churches in the area that came! It was a blessing to interact with not only teens from the church where we’re serving, but also with teens from different ministries. We concluded our ministry at Mountain Home Bible Church on Thursday evening with an Irish Concert. It was a blessing to partner with this church! January 9-14, 2022
Bible Baptist Church/School Hampton, GA We’re back together! Each team member spent the holidays with their families and had a wonderful holiday season celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year. We’re thankful for the safety that the Lord provided for all of us while we were apart, and safety as we met back together. We don’t want to take safety for granted! We met up at Bible Baptist Church in Hampton, GA ready to serve together this spring semester. It was a joy to serve alongside of Bible Baptist. Sunday evening we had an Irish Concert, which was a fun way to start off the week! After the Monday evening service, we gathered with different people from the church to watch the National Championship game. It was so special to be in the state of Georgia when the Georgia Bulldogs won the championship! Not only did we serve in the church, but we also had opportunities to be involved in the Christian school. Throughout the week, Hudson, Phil, and Aaron had the opportunity to preach in chapels for both high school and elementary. It was exciting to be involved in the school, and then see those kids come to the services in the evening. We had more connecting points with the teens during the pre-sessions this week and had many elementary kids come to the kids program at night. It was a blessing to be at this church with Pastor Regier this week. We are thankful for a great beginning to our spring semester! |
