September 5-9, 2021 First Baptist Church, Reed City, MI Our first church we ministered in this semester was in Reed City, MI at First Baptist Church. We loved meeting Pastor Lennox and his family and enjoying dinner & fellowship. Sunday was a unique day in which we had a church luncheon after the morning service. We always love a church luncheon since it’s a special time to connect and learn about various church members. It’s a great way to begin a week of ministry since we’ve established a good connection going into the week. Throughout the week before services, we met with the teens for pre-sessions. During this time, we played a short game with the teens, and Hudson gave a challenge to encourage them in their relationship with God. All of these nights helped get the teens excited for the Cola War that we did later that week. In fact, Wednesday afternoon our team members and the teens split up into different groups and went canvassing at a local public school to invite teens out for the Cola War we had that evening. We had a great turnout and saw fruit from canvassing! It was definitely a great night for connecting with the teens and having amazing Gospel conversations. Please pray for the teens that we talked to that the Spirit would continue to work in their hearts and help them realize their need for a Savior. On our final night, we did an Irish concert for the church and it was another opportunity for Aaron to preach the Gospel. We loved being able to connect and fellowship afterwards with church members or even with friends who attended from the area. Definitely a fun first week for us on the road! August 29-September 3, 2021
Team Training Coffey House, Allen Park, MI The time of year has come upon Coffey Ministries in which it’s time to get geared up and back on the road. At the end of August, each team member traveled to meet up at the Coffey House in Detroit for a week of team training. Each day we met in the morning and spent time in Romans. The rest of the morning, we spent time doing various training sessions. Afternoons were spent practicing music together to prepare for upcoming services. Not only did we spend time together as a team, training and preparing for ministry, but we also had sweet times of fellowship with previous team members who now live in the Detroit area--Stephen and Kara Lynn, Dillon and Anna England, and Riley and Bethany Woodfin. A couple of nights, we met in their different homes to have dinner and sweet conversations. What was particularly sweet was having previous team members host current team members. Conversations were always sweet, especially because they understood the context of team training week. Our final night in Detroit was especially sweet. All of the Detroit-area previous team members came over for a dinner and fellowship. We enjoyed a special time around a bonfire singing in worship to our Lord and give testimony to what He’s done while traveling with the Coffeys. It was a great way to send us off for another year of ministry! Tuesday evening, a number of us went to a Detroit Tigers baseball game! It was such a fun evening watching baseball, spending time together, and even having gospel conversations with a man that was sitting in our row!
