Bob Jones University

What a privilege it was to preach for the opening services at Bob Jones University this past week. I shared my testimony with the student body about the journey God divinely orchestrated for me from when I attended the university in 1992 until the present. Through a series of God’s perfectly timed events, He brought me to a saving relationship with Himself several years after my time at BJ. I shared with them how I went through a long period of time simply looking the part and pretending, and I challenged the students to examine themselves to see whether they are living a life of true faith or just outward conformity. At 21 years old I truly came to Christ not just desiring for Him to give me a fire escape from hell, but for Him to become my Lord and Master and Savior.

The entire week was a chance for our team to connect with students one on one and in various group settings. From dorm meetings to a question and answer time in the ministerial class, I was able to talk about the ministry God has given us since my years at the school. Our team was also able to provide some music during one of the evening services.

One of the biggest blessings of our time there was the time spent with Steve Pettit, my dear friend and mentor. After traveling with Brother Steve for several years, he has become a great source of wisdom, challenge and encouragement to me. I praise God for his leadership, vision and heart at Bob Jones. I believe that he has been perfectly equipped for this new chapter of his life.
