Community Baptist Church (Garner, NC)

​We were so excited to head up to Garner, NC to be with Community Baptist Church again with Pastor Mike Knight. We were with them for a Sunday last year and looked forward to this week of meetings ever since. God is doing some great things in and through the church, since their first service almost ten years ago. Now they are making preparations to build their own building on some property that God provided for them in their first year of ministry. What an amazing blessing for this church!

Throughout the week, Pastor had some special opportunities for us to serve the church. Monday we went to visit a man who just learned of a terminal brain tumor and has been unable to attend with his church family for some time. Loving bluegrass music, Ralph and Charlotte welcomed us into their home to play some bluegrass music for them and encourage them through songs of worship. Our next stop was with Sharon Reece and her grandchildren. Sharon has been battling cancer as well, and we met six of her grandchildren who she often has at her house. What a challenge and wonderful ministry opportunity this was for us, to be able to see God working in the lives of faithful men and women from Community Baptist Church as they journey through trial!
 
On the very last day our team was there, we went out to hang out with the teens at Bill Buffalo’s bowling lanes. Bill goes to Community, and he was so gracious to treat the whole group of us to bowling. putt-putt, and a trip to Pelican’s sno-cone! We loved having the entire week with this great group of teenagers and hearing on the bus ride back how God had been challenging them this week.
 
Throughout the week, the team and Aaron and Steph greatly enjoyed fellowship with Pastor and Nancy Knight and Dave and Sarah Mincy. They were a blessing to us personally, and we appreciated their encouragement as we are all striving to walk closer with the Lord!
 
It was a joy to partner with Community Baptist Church in Garner, and we are looking forward to seeing God’s continued work in and through them as they move forward with the Gospel! Lord willing, we will gather in their new building the next time we are together!
