What a week in Danville, Illinois at First Baptist Church! Pastor Paul and Beth Rebert, longtime friends with the Coffey’s, were preparing their church for our team to come for quite a while with persistent and dedicated praying. Their spiritual endeavor was reflected in the congregation of First Baptist as well! More than once, our team heard of the constant prayers lifting us up before the week of revival meetings.

And the Lord certainly answered those prayers. Throughout the week of school chapel messages, teen pre-sessions, and nightly meetings, the message of the Gospel worked in countless lives. We were so excited to see the efforts the church went through to bring in visitors. The auditorium was packed and the balcony was full as well during the Irish Concert on Friday night. Praise God for answered prayers as many visitors came for the first time.

Even the children were determined to invite their friends to the Secret Keepers program. Every day our group kept growing! The children were so excited about bringing all of their friends with a little incentive. If they had forty children come any of the nights, the one who brought the most visitors would get to put a shaving cream pie in Mr. Seth’s hair. The very last night, they totaled at 39 but because of their effort and consistency in bringing in new people, we let them count one girl’s grandparents who were up with the adults as part of our number so they could give Mr. Seth a mohawk. They certainly enjoyed that!

Our stay at First Baptist in Danville was so encouraging. The service of the people to our team, to hear how people had been praying for weeks before we arrived and the gifts of many generous members are just a small representation of the love the people showed to us. We pray that God would continue to work in the Danville area through this church as God used them in our lives. We are so grateful for their ministry and the opportunity to assist them in reaching out to their community.

I still got you on my prayer wall and it is growing. Pastor Chad has his own church in that state now. Still struggling with finances and regular work.
