Our first week back from spring break was kicked off with services at First Baptist Church in Danville, IL. It was wonderful being back with Pastor Paul Rebert and the church people there. God has been faithfully building and growing His church, and it was a joy for us to see that growth first-hand. It definitely was a busy week packed with school chapels and services every day. Several teens and kids told us how God had used the preaching of His Word to change their hearts during our time there. It is incredibly humbling to us that God chooses to use us to proclaim His name and tell people about Jesus. Wednesday night, the kids showed the adults a few things they had been learning in the children’s program such as John 8:12 “I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Thursday afternoon, grades 6-12 got out of school for a time of chapel and open gym with our team. It was a blast! Just a few hours later, we met again with the teens for a huge cola war complete with dodgeball, tube tug, don’t crack the 6-pack, 9-square, and other games. Some other highlights from the week included a singles class volleyball night after the service; game nights with the pastoral staff; and lots of opportunities to reconnect with old friends. It was exciting to see how God worked in the hearts of our team and His people in Danville, IL. We praise Him for what He is accomplishing as He continues building His Kingdom.
