Thursday afternoon, the teens from the academy joined our team as they went out to local public schools inviting other teens to the Cola War Thursday night. We were encouraged to see several visitors as a result of canvassing, and a few of them trusted Christ as Savior! The first week culminated with a Family Fun Night on Friday night. We had a great turnout! It was a blast watching everyone get involved with all the games and cheering on their team. Lots of families from the preschool came and heard the Gospel both in the children’s program and the main service. The second week, the team stayed in Lehigh Acres while Aaron went to Brookside Baptist in Wisconsin (read about his week here). The team got lots of work done, such as notating music, deep cleaning all the vehicles and trailers (inside and out), organizing equipment and supplies, and other projects. They also enjoyed a few days off that were filled with 4-wheeling, spear fishing, bonfires, kayaking, beach time, spikeball, motorcycles, and lots of Monopoly Deal. One of the evenings, Pastor Vance burned a giant Christmas tree (actually 23 Christmas trees tied together into 1 tree). The fire was huge! It was so much fun to watch! We loved our time with Gunnery Road Baptist Church, the Vances and teachers, and our team. It was refreshing being back together again and reconnecting with longtime friends. We are looking forward to see how God continues using the people at Gunnery Road to reach the surrounding community and advance the Gospel.
