January 10-15, 2021
Gunnery Road Baptist Church and School

We began our spring semester in Ft. Myers, FL at Gunnery Road Baptist Church and School. It was a joy to partner in music on Sunday and hear a congregation that sings out! God worked in some clear ways in the children’s ministry this week! One night in particular, we had the highest number of attendance that we’ve seen this year. But most importantly, there were 4 salvation decisions that children made throughout the week! It’s such an extra blessing to see the fruit of the seeds that were planted and watered! 

Then throughout the week, the team had the opportunity to connect with the kids at the school both during chapels and during lunches. Before or after we ate, you would find us playing volleyball with the kids and having many good conversations. On Monday night, our team had the opportunity to play volleyball with the church’s young adults. It was a fun night of fun, competition, and fellowship. Then on Thursday night, the teens had a fun night playing ultimate frisbee & volleyball. We enjoyed this extra opportunity to connect with the teens and having good conversations with them. It was good to be able to hear where they’re at and hear how God’s working in their lives. On Friday night, the church hosted a Fun Night that was geared towards the families of their Christian school. Our team enjoyed playing the different games with the kids and teens there, and having conversations with different people in the church throughout the evening. We played fun music and did some minute-to-win-it games with the church and just absolutely loved seeing the church have fun together. It was a great way to end a fantastic way to end the week with this church and school. 

This week was also refreshing for our team. We had the opportunity to both minister to the church, but also be ministered to. The church members really took care of us and encouraged us. We had so many conversations with various teachers, men, and women in the church that were just a sweet blessing to the week. We also got to have some down time to go kayaking and paddle boarding in the ocean, kayak on the river, ride the dune buggies, and go spear fishing! It was a sweet week of encouragement and a reset for our hearts going into a new semester. 

January 17-23, 2021
Parkway Baptist Church

This week we had the opportunity to be at a new church this week, and it was such a special blessing to be involved in this ministry. On Sunday morning, the girls had the opportunity to partner with their music team in leading worship with their congregation. On Sunday night, the service looked a little different in that we did music and Aaron preached for a leadership forum for their church and school leadership. The school was one of the bigger outreaches that we had this week. [to read more head to our website]

The team ran two school days of games and preaching sessions with the middle & high school. We got to see many connections form over those two days and saw how the kids became more engaged and responsive as the days went on. We got to see God work in very clear ways as we saw kids respond to the preaching and step out to get counseling for salvation! On the last day, twelve students trusted in Christ for salvation. God is at work! We’re excited for the follow-up conversations that will continue to happen there with the teachers and leaders and for the discipleship that will begin. God’s doing some pretty amazing things at Parkway Christian Academy!

We also were able to see visitors come out from the community for the Irish concert we held on Wednesday night. It was awesome to see how God brought people to hear the good news of the Gospel from the community from just a simple social media post!
