Providence Baptist Church (Westerville, OH)

We had been looking forward to being with Providence Baptist Church as our first meeting of our fall semester. The church itself, a restored barn, was fashioned into a church building. They are growing out of their current facility, and are looking to find a building that will better suit their growing congregation. We were excited to come alongside of them and partner in the Gospel!

During the week, we met the people of the church before the services on Sunday and the special meetings Monday and Tuesday. Monday night was dubbed Man Day Monday at Providence. The men came for the fellowship but stayed for the food – Buffalo Wild Wings! The men enjoyed some time on the lawn, shooting the bow and talking about other manly things. Aaron brought a challenge to the men as well on sowing and reaping in the Christian life from Galatians 6.
 
Tuesday night the women enjoyed some coffee and chocolate. They also brought some of their friends to hear the gospel as Stephanie spoke from Philippians. It was wonderful to have these nights of less formal fun to get to know the church people and share the Gospel in a more casual and personal setting.
 
In the mornings, our team went over to Northside Christian School. We would meet the students before chapel and do some special music before Aaron and Matt preached to the teens and Brad spoke to the children. We were so encouraged by the attitudes of not only the teachers, but also the students. They are so eager to learn the Word, and their love and passion for God is evident in their singing and openness. Thursday was a day of camp for the 6th-12th grades and we joined them up at Camp Peniel for the day. With games, times of skits, food, and lots of craziness, Aaron and Matt challenged the students to live authentic lives for Christ, digging into His Word and asking Him to change their hearts. It was an amazing day!
 
On Friday, we finished out the week with an Irish Concert. Instead of having it inside of the church building, we set up our sound system and played on the front porch of the church. Many visitors came to hear the music and the Gospel message. There were some who, as they were passing by, heard our sound check and stayed around to hear the actual concert. What a blessing to partner with the Gospel and trust God to use His Word in their Gospel relationships. It was a blessing to see so many people’s guests attend the night and hear the Truth! May God continue to work in the seeds that were planted.
