Wayside Chapel (Bucyrus, OH)

Last week, we had the privilege to serve with Dr. Tim Compton at Wayside Chapel in Bucyrus, Ohio. It was a blessing to minister to the church in the evening services and the students of Wayside Christian School during the day. The Lord met with us and gave us a great week of meetings around His Word!

Tuesday morning, we were excited to have our first Coffey Hour of the semester! Stephanie shared with the ladies of Wayside Chapel on thankfulness. We were all challenged to give thanks--even in situations when the choice to be thankful is not easy, and when it may seem impossible! Because we are saved and have Christ, we can be thankful in all things! We loved the opportunity to connect with the ladies, because it allows us to get to know them outside of the service times and there’s more time for fellowship.

Another first of the semester was to have a pre-session with the adults, teens and children before the services each night. The adults spent the time with Aaron and focused on prayer. The teens met with Jason and we had a time of quick competition and then a short challenge, and the children were taught about the importance of the Bible and why we can trust the Scriptures. We were thankful for some extra time around the Word with the members of Wayside before the evening service.

Throughout the week, we were able to have some unique ministry opportunities with the teens of Wayside. Seth and Jason played some indoor soccer on Monday night with a group of guys. We were able to minister in the Christian school, and there were several times throughout the week where we were able to eat with the teens during lunch and enjoy fellowshipping with them.

Wednesday we headed out into the cold to canvass the surrounding area for our Cola War on Thursday. We had a small handful of teens come out to help us invite teens in the community to the Cola Wars. Even with the cold days, we were able to find some of the teen hangouts. It was great to see some of the Wayside teens go outside of themselves and invite the community to hear the Gospel. We had a great time on Thursday and are praising God for the responses. Five teens and one adult turned from their sins and trusted in Christ after the Gospel was shared that night! One church teen invited a teen during the canvassing time, and the teenager came to the Cola Wars and trusted Christ!

To round off the week, we had our Irish Concert on Friday. We desire for our ministry to come alongside churches as they reach out to their friends, family, and community, and give the church an extra tool to help invite those relationships that normally would not be interested in coming to a normal church service. We are thankful to be able to serve God and partner with churches to see souls realize their need of a Savior.
