West Meadows Baptist Church

Our first week of local church meetings this year started in Florida — the perfect place to be in January! We were privileged to serve in Jacksonville, Florida at West Meadows Baptist Church with Pastor Bruce Armstrong. This was our first time to be here, and we anticipated God’s blessing as we gathered around the Word together.

To begin our week, we had a great fellowship time with the teens on Sunday night, spending some times playing games and eating tacos in the youth building. Who knew how intense it could get just rolling a dice and writing numbers 1-100 the fastest? Nate Stewart led the group in some songs and testimonies. It was a blessing to what God was working in us through the day’s messages and our own Bible reading.

The church also had a Christian school. We had the opportunity to preach each day for chapel.  We invited the kids and teens to the services, and our children’s program saw some steady growth each night. Ardis took the children for the time before the service, while Jason led the teens, and Aaron taught on prayer with the adults. 

Wednesday night, Brad led the children in their program for the parents. It was encouraging to see many parents came out to see their children share what they’ve been learning throughout the week. The people also worked hard to invite their friends and family out to an Irish Concert on our last service together. We had quite a turnout! We trust the Lord with the Gospel seeds that were planted in people’s hearts. God is at work!

Friday we had a Cola War with the teens and even though the weather was a bit overcast and rainy, God blessed the preaching of His Word with hearts ready to hear His message! During the chapels and the Cola War, there were a handful of teens asking great questions and a couple of teens and adults made professions of faith that week! We are so thankful for the kindness and love of West Meadows Baptist Church and look forward to ministering with their church body again in the future.
