The first full week of February found us in Jacksonville, Florida again at West Meadows Baptist Church. Pastor Bruce Armstrong has been at West Meadows most of his life. He graduated from West Meadows Christian Academy and after graduating college, he went back and began working with the youth and students at West Meadows. He has been senior pastor since 2000. It is always an encouragement to find pastors who have been working faithfully in the ministry for such a long time. The week started off with Aaron preaching Sunday morning and Matt leading the teen Sunday school. It was really neat to see how many new teens were coming to all the services by the end of the week! Many from the school chapels and lunches connected well with the team members and brought their friends in the evenings for pre-service games and challenges and then the main service. Several teens trusted Christ as Savior! By the time we got to the family fun night on Friday, there were over 20 teenagers there and lots of families. It’s good for a church to pray and learn together, but it’s also good for the church to laugh and have fun together. We love providing an opportunity for the church to come together, have fun, and hear from God’s Word. It was a busy but rewarding week in Jacksonville, Florida. We praise God for the work He is doing at and through West Meadows Baptist Church, the academy, and the faithfulness of the staff there. We are praying for fruit that remains and look forward to being back next time our travels take us to Florida. For pictures from the week, check out our Facebook album.
